Fall Training, Mini-Tour and Yukon BBQ

 

From September to November you can learn about mushing through our training courses or simplly join one of our educational tours and/or enjoy a BBQ dinner. Yukon Quest veteran Frank Turner leads our tours or when he's not available one of our other permanent staff.

 

If English isn't your first language we often have staff working with us from other countries who may be able to lead a tour in your preferred language.

 

Note: Adult prices quoted, inclusive of GST. Reduced rates available for children. Prices are subject to change.

 

  • Fall Training

Dog Mushing PhotoDescription:

 

During training season (September to November) subject to temperature and weather conditions you can join Frank and our staff for training runs, riding along on the ATV (four wheeled farm bike).

 

You can watch and help our crew hook-up a team of very energetic huskies and ride along their training trails through the woods for several miles.

 

You will also get a tour of the kennels and the chance to watch a short video about the Yukon Quest for a glimpse of the race from behind the scenes.

 

Daily: 8.30am - 12noon.

* Short video with narration by Frank – an exciting look at the Yukon Quest
* Lots of hands-on time with the dogs and the puppies

  • Mini-Tour

Description of the tour:

 

For all dog lovers. A good option if you don't have too much time, but would like to learn a bit about dog-sledding and life in the Yukon from one of our staff.

 

Included in the tour:

 

* Guided introduction to sled-dogs and an interactive tour with our friendly dogs
* Lots of free time with the dogs and puppies

* Note: If you have less time, you can also do a self-guided tour for $15 p.p.

  • The Taste of Yukon (Matinee Tour & Dinner)

Description of the tour:

 

Join us for an in-depth introduction to sled-dogs, the Yukon Quest and our Yukon lifestyle followed by a special northern dinner. This is an authentic Yukon experience where you can share our lifestyle for an evening.

 

Daily from 1pm to about 7.30pm.

 

Included in the tour:

 

* Introduction to sled-dogs & interactive tour with our friendly dogs
* Short video – an exciting look at the Yukon Quest
* “40 Below” demonstration to see how mushers care for their dogs and handle the cold on the Quest trail
* Lots of hands-on time with the dogs and the puppies
* Fine northen food featuring Arctic Char, Bison, Caribou and Elk
