Muktuk Matinee -
Introduction to the world of Yukon Quest Sled-Dogs |
|
Frank is giving part of his presentation
to visitors, on the shores of the Takhini River. The dogs
are all checking to see which visitors have treats left! |
- Meet 100+ very friendly huskies, including our puppies
and "seniors"
- Join Frank for a walk & training-run, as the
dogs free-run to the Takhini River
- After the walk, Frank will provide color commentary
for a short Quest video
- During the video, we serve beverages and fresh home-baked
muffins

| This learning adventure tour ends with a
"40-below" enactment, where Frank demonstrates
his racing equipment and shows how mushers manage on the
trail in severe cold. |

Hike'n'Howl - Picnic
Lunch & Day Hike with Huskies |

Two young Quest dogs charge down the trail
for a day-hike. This is their chance to run "flat
out" and also to play with our visitors – they
love it! |
- Meet 100+ very friendly huskies, including our puppies
and "seniors"
- Head out onto our training trails for a day hike,
with several of our dogs
- Picnic lunch and snacks provided
- At the end of the day, the dogs (and you) can take
a quick dip in the Takhini River (our dogs love the
chance to run into the river)

FALL TRAINING RUNS WITH
SLED-DOGS |
|
- During training season (from September to November),
you can join Frank and our staff for training runs,
riding along on the ATV (subject to temperature and
weather conditions)
- You can watch and help our crew hook-up a team
of very energetic huskies, and ride along their training
trails through the woods, for several miles.
- You will get a brief tour of the kennels, and a
chance to watch a short Quest video, for a glimpse
of the race from behind the scenes.

| Fees for training runs are $75
CDN / $65 USD per person, including a kennel tour. |
| Training runs without a kennel tour are $60
cdn per person. |

Canoe tours |
|
- Paddle down the Takhini River to our doorstep.
- You can start at Kathleen Lake for a 2-day trip,
or at a bridge crossing for a 1-day trip.
- Or, you can float down the historic Yukon River
from Whitehorse to the Takhini River Bridge, near
our ranch.

There are others many activities to participate
in at Muktuk, with our dogs, horses, hiking trails, swimming
holes and canoes. And then there's the peace and quiet,
